Time flies and I can't believe that my very first song release with my feat. Artist Thir13een is celebrating its first birthday this month! For this special occasion, I'm sharing a brand-new and encouraging song review by the music blog site BandCamp Diaries in English and (German translation).

This song has a powerful message, and the circumstances of the state of things in the world today are even more thought-provoking. This song denounces the horrors of living in fear that refugees have to experience on daily basis. It was actually released just a mere two days before the start of the war in Ukraine.

Today, the message of this song resonates very strongly, even after one year. The blend of soul and R&B offers so much warmth, and it highlights Thir13een’s amazing vocal skills too. Lily’s songwriting is clever and direct. She writes from the heart, and as a result, her words are very timeless and easy to connect with.

Lily Amis is open and honest enough to admit that her ability to make music, write and tell stories is the main reason she is still around. YoYo & Chess - The Dance Video!

I’m happy to present you my Dance Video for “YoYo & Chess”. This is my fourth collaboration with dancer Lily. 
Like the song cover, the background images and videos have a meaning. Also, if you think it is a coincidence that Lily is wearing red, well it's not. Her red top and shoes represent the flag of the country that toyed with us like YoYo & Chess for decades.
It is also no coincidence that you see five dancers. Two episodes in our life were overshadowed and dominated by Swiss bureaucracy. Both episodes lasted five years. The first one was between 1998 and 2002. And the second episode was between 2017 and 2022! To this date, I don't know how we survived these awful times. And if I could turn back the time and calm my young self down, I honestly wouldn't know what to tell her. 
I'm proud of doing the video design and editing all by myself and I really hope you enjoy it. Here are the images that designed and used for Lily's background and a few of my social media posts for YoYo & Chess.

I honestly think after flying the most liberating feeling in the world is ice-skating. I fell in love with skating from a young age and in my opinion, the best way to express liberty after flying and dancing is skating. 

Today is the release day of my uplifting and empowering song “YoYo & Chess" and this exceptionally talented French dancer made my song release and song message of azadi/liberty even more special.

Jérémie Flemin is a high-level ice dance athlete based in France and Poland. His devotion for his art lead him to create a brand new segment of ice dancing, where he is THE ONLY ONE in the world bringing hip-hop music and ice skating together.

Shows, competitions, and online music videos are just a few of Jérémie Flemins favorite ways to showcase his talent and passion. Icon artists such as Pharrell, Chris Brown, Dj Khaled, and others have saluted his performances. And now Jérémie is performing to my song “YoYo & Chess”.

Jérémie Flemin's love for ice skating started at the age of five and pushed him later to leave his family at a young age to make something out of his passion. Since then, he traveled the world, training at the best institutions in Russia, Switzerland, Italy, and Canada to name a few, winning numerous medals and championships along the way.

I have taken the liberty to give my feat. Artist Thir13een the title #13TheRNBSoulKing. I have also taken the liberty to give this amazingly talented and passionate dancer the title #JeremieTheIceKing. 

So while I’m giving royal titles, I take the liberty to give myself the title #LilyQueenofLyrics. :-) After all, royalties and refugees, ordinary and celebrity – we are all the same, part of a game, the game of life.

YoYo & Chess - Royalties & Refugees!

If we have learned and realized anything - by the exaggerated media coverage for Prince Harry's memoir during the previous months – it’s that everyone despite fame, fortune, privilege, and position in life is a YoYo and chess figure surviving struggles and pain in a challenging chess board game.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame Prince Harry for writing and promoting his memoir. He has every right to share his side of the story. Especially after all these years of wrong and false reports about him and his wife. And I admit I was very disappointed when he and Meghan left the royal family and moved miles away. I blamed Meghan for everything until we watched the Netflix documentary and heard their side of the story. And boy these two are THE example of chess figures and YoYo. I think it was the best decision for the two to leave and start over far away from the British tabloids that toyed with them so badly.

Who would have thought that Prince Harry would become kind of a refugee? Isn’t it ironic that the world was watching and witnessing this awful treatment to him and his wife and no one tried to help and support them? Even their own family treated them like YoYo.

And on top of that in the previous weeks despite all the protests that are happening in the world in different countries for different reasons, the global media had only one topic: Prince Harry's memoir. As if everything and everyone else is worth nothing. As if the world has no other problems to talk about.

So the global media and its technic to brainwash is the best example of how we are treated like YoYo & Chess. Make sure that you don’t fall for all the lies and cheats by the media. Don’t be a YoYo. Don’t be a chess figure. 

YoYo & Chess - Ordinary & Celebrity!

“YoYo & Chess” is a song for everyone. From ordinary to celebrity, from royalties to refugees. The more time goes by the more we see the lack of RESPECT in our society. People treat each other badly and unfairly whenever and wherever they can and I wonder why? When and why has it become normal to torture people on TV screens and call it entertainment?

The best example of our lack of respect are the embarrassing reality shows with celebrities such as “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here”, the English version, and “Ich bin ein Star, holt mich hier raus”, also known as the Dschungelcamp (Jungle Camp) the German version.

If you haven’t seen the shows, don’t worry, you haven’t missed anything. It is a waste of time! But this is the concept of the show: It is a survival reality television show that is airing for more than a decade in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and the USA. I'm a Celebrity is often a rating winner for ITV1, attracting an average of over 9 million viewers for each series in the UK, while the German version “DER DSCHUNGELCAMP” is attracting an average of over 3 million viewers.

The format sees a group of celebrities living together in extreme conditions with few creature comforts. Each member undertakes challenges to secure additional food and treats for the group, and to avoid being voted out by viewers during their stay, with the final episode's votes nominating who wins a series, and becomes the King or Queen of the jungle.

Well, this is the theory. In reality, this TV show is insulting, humiliating, embarrassing, and torturing celebrities and newcomers (wanna-be celebrities). They are forced to eat disgusting stuff (that I'm not going to list here) while experiencing the most horrible and inhuman treatment. They dont eat properly. They can't sleep properly. They cant wash properly. TV producers punish celebrities like prisoners for two weeks long and call it entertainment! My opinion is: This is sick and disrespectful. 

One could argue and say, well it's their own fault. No one is forcing them to participate. They sell themselves for air time, and PR and get paid during and after the TV show, while the refugees stuck in refugee camps experience the same torture and horrible treatment with no attention or payment. 

This is true. In a way, it is a life-changing experience for privileged and shallow celebrities. And my hope is that these fame and fortune-hungry people will learn a lesson for life and at least have more understanding and empathy for refugees who have to suffer and struggle under these awful live conditions not only for two weeks but for years and sometimes even decades. 

According to the Oxford Dictionary, a CELEBRITY is a well-known or famous person in entertainment or sport, who attracts interest from the general public and attention from the mass media.

Well, today any ordinary person calls him or herself a celebrity. Influencers, YouTube bloggers, and reality TV participants become celebrities overnight without achieving anything meaningful or having any talent except that they sell themselves for fame and fortune! 

They become chess figures and the TV stations and the global media toy with them like a YoYo. These young, clueless, fame and money-hungry people don’t realize how low they sell themselves and how they will regret their naïve actions and stupid decisions to be part of this game in the future.

Therefore take these people as an example and make sure that you don’t become a chess figure or YoYo for others' benefit and cheap entertainment.

 

YoYo & Chess - The Pandemic & Refugee crises!

This time last year, I released my very first song. A song for refugees “80 Million People”, Lily Amis feat. Thir13een. My goal with my lyrics was to bring AWARENESS about the plight of refugees, especially the ones stuck in disgusting and awful refugee camps around the world.

At the latest during the pandemic crisis, every single person in the world finally understood the suffering that the refugees have to endure. The authorities made decisions and created Covid-guidelines such as social distancing, face masks, Covid vaccinations, home office, travel bans, forced quarantine, etc. and we had NO saying in anything. Health ministers like Matt Hancock (UK), Alain Berset (Switzerland), and Karl Lauterbach (Germany) were dictating and dominating the chess board and we were only the chess figures. 

That's what refugees deal with once they live their home country. Instead of experiencing support, understanding, and caring, they become nothing but a YoYo and chess figure for the governments, lawmakers, and social workers. The refugee law toys with their destiny and future for years if not decades. 

During the pandemic crises, strangers in power made decisions about our personal and professional life and we had no choice but to follow the rules. We all were helpless and trapped. The rich have gotten richer and the middle class has gotten poorer. 

The previous three years are THE ultimate proof that we All are nothing but YoYo and chess figures. 

Now, a year later after my first song release, Im releasing my fifth song which is dedicated to every single person who feels trapped.  

It's a tragedy, that my song for refugees was released only two days before the war outbreak in Ukraine. Now one year later everything got worse. Look where Europe is standing today. Instead of ending the bloody war, they are sponsoring weapons like doing giveaways with goodies and sweets! 

History keeps repeating itself and the stupidity continues. The global world leaders, governments, and people in power have learned absolutely nothing from WWII and evils like Hitler, Mussolini, and Co 

I wonder where this uncertain journey goes and what's next? Only time will show!

 

YoYo & Chess – Our story!

“YoYo & Chess” is a song for everyone. Inspired by my experiences with evil people I wrote the lyrics back in the summer of 2022. The older I get the more I realize how many awful and coldhearted people have made our life difficult and miserable, too often unbearable.

I had a wonderful childhood, even though my father left us when I was five years old. I got so much love and attention from my sweet mum and my lovely grandparents (my mother's parents) that I never felt a father's absence. 

But when war broke out in my country everything changed overnight. The fear of dying and losing loved ones is still in every single bone of mine. You can never forget the sound of the nightly bomb attacks and war sirens. To this date, I hate the sound of fireworks. So my first experience with being nothing but a chess figure was experiencing war. Mighty hungry rulers toyed with people's lives, destinies, and futures and this stupid but moneymaking game continues to this date for centuries. 

And when we left our birth country and ended up in Switzerland as war refugees, it was the beginning of an emotionally exhausting and challenging nightmare/chess game with US as the main chess figures.

An awful refugee law, a corrupt social worker, a racist teacher, an insane stepfather, and a charlatan doctor made our life miserable. In my teenage years, the chess game continued and we were no longer only chess figures. We also became a YoYo for the corrupt authorities. 

After finishing school I wasn’t allowed to do anything. No further education, no internship, no employment. Nothing! Why? Because of my refugee status and paper. A piece of paper given by corrupt rule makers was not only destroying our life and future, but also killing my ambitions, wishes, dreams, and desires.

The awful and ridiculous chess game continued for decades and we played along. We had no other choice. They toyed with us and we let them do it while trying desperately to survive unbearable hurdles systematically designed and created by corrupt authorities and laws that force refugees to leave their refugee country.

Despite the unbelievable challenges and obstacles, I managed with my mum's incredibly strong character and support to get a proper education. I was extremely motivated, optimistic, and positive that I would finally be able to work and be financially independent. 

Unfortunately, the chess game was not over yet. I had to deal with more black-hearted people in my personal and professional life. People who intentionally hold me back from improving. Corrupt companies, immoral Human Resources Managers, narcissistic bosses, morbidly jealous and malicious working colleagues, and last but not least shady unemployment office workers ruled the chess game for decades.

This awful and suffocating chess game went on for more years and we played along until 2014. That was the turning point of the game. I was no longer willing to be a chess figure or a YoYo. I was finally able to say NO. No to nonsense. No to injustice and No to nasty, ignorant, godless people, and today I’m finally able to breathe freely.

The only solution to escape from the wobbly state in life is the motion of the YoYo spinning at the end. We must move away from the sleeping mode, cut the string, free ourselves and get away! This is my personal story - based on my experiences - behind the song “YoYo & Chess”. 

However, while I was writing the lyrics, I also thought about the people who are stuck in horrible and loveless relationships or marriages. Miserable people who are forced to work with or for corrupt people and companies. People who live in corrupt countries and are fighting daily against inhumanity and injustice. 

My message is clear: Free yourself from whatever impossible situation you are in right now. It may take some time and you won't, be able to free yourself today, but never give up. Free yourself from madness. Free yourself from nonsense. Free yourself from unhappy relationships and useless jobs. You and only you can free yourself. Remember Freedom is the only universal key to happiness and success!

YoYo & Chess - The song cover & colours!

If you wonder why I have chosen the colors Red and Green for “YoYo & Chess” song cover. Well, I did it for three reasons. Red symbolizes love. Green symbolizes hope. White symbolizes Peace.

At the same time, the red color symbolizes Switzerland. The Red & White represent the Swiss flag. Green, White, and Red represent the Iranian flag.

It is ironic and tragic to realize after decades of struggling and suffering in silence, that if we had not experienced war and were forced to live our birth country and become refugees in the heart of Europe - where we were tortured for decades because of our refugee status – we would have struggled and suffered differently in our country of birth.

When we left our hometown to survive the war with the hope of a better and safe future with possibilities and opportunities, I never looked back. I didn’t have the time to look back and ask myself what if! We were just trying to survive day by day in a foreign country with only limited rights to breathe, exist and survive.

And when we went back home after fifteen years (it is all written in my memoir THE STOLEN YEARS IN ZURICH), I took everything for granted. I didn’t question the rules. Rules are rules and whenever we travel to different countries we respect the rules, culture, traditions, and mentality.

However, today in 2023 I really do wonder how people, especially women have been able to survive inhuman and ridiculous rules dictated by mighty hungry, corrupt, and godless creatures. Not only in the Islamic Republic of Iran but everywhere around the world in countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, India, China, Korea, and every other country that is giving damn shit to human rights in general and has ZERO respect for women, for children, for humanity and last but not least for GOD! This realization is shocking, heartbreaking, and extremely sad and tragic! 

YoYo & Chess - The lyrics journey!

In July 2022 I wrote a few song lyrics for a song contest and one of them was “YOYO & CHESS”, inspired by my own experiences with evil people, who made our life unnecessarily difficult and miserable.

Anyone and I literary mean anyone will relate to “YOYO & CHESS”. From Royalties and refugees to ordinary and celebrities. We all are part of a game, ruled by Godless, money, and mighty-hungry rulers, and lawmakers (evils) who make our life a living hell. They stop us from improving and growing and if we don’t fight back and stand up for our beliefs and goals we will never ever be able to experience liberty. 

Honestly, creativity has been my anti-depression. If I wasn’t blessed with my talent for storytelling, writing, and drawing, I wouldn’t be around anymore. The creative process of writing a lyric is a story in itself. And it is interesting how lyrics change when you don't rush, wait and go with time.

I added the opening part to the song last minute before it went to song production with my feat. Artist, producer and singer Thir13een. Inspired by the non-ending media coverage in the recent weeks about Prince Harry's memoir “Spare” and his suffering and struggles in life - despite all the privileges that he had and has - made me realize once more that everyone is in one way or another manipulated and trapped in life. His world is dictated by century-old rules and traditions created by someone ages ago which make the entire Royal family some kind of prisoners despite all the fortune and fame they have.

I also added the word AZADI (which is Persian and means liberty) to the chorus after the horrifying and brutal recent events in Iran.  

When you have no or only limited say about your own life and decisions – sooner or later it will destroy your heart, mind, and soul.

For centuries FREEDOM is the universal key to happiness and success. And with my song, I want to remind and encourage everyone to fight back and be strong regardless of all the obstacles. Whether it is in your private or professional life, never allow anyone to destroy your dreams and desires! If we allow godless people to take control, they might as well flush our dreams, desires, and goals down the toilet. 

NEVER FORGET: Azadi/Liberty is a human right regardless of who we are and where we live and what the rulers dictate to us! No matter how much they try to brainwash and manipulate us with fear! We are stronger than evil!
