Meet American Author Miranda Brock

Today I like you to meet Miranda Brock, American Author of the novel SOULSDISCOVERED”. From an early age Miranda Brock has always loved fantasy and adventure everything. Since she doesn't live in a world of enchanting powers, mythical beasts, and things unbelievable she has decided to write about them. Born in southern Illinois, where she still resides with her husband and two children, she grew up running through the woods, playing in creeks, and riding horses.

What started out as writing poetry grew into short stories and eventually led to her first novel Souls Discovered. Miranda lives in the country where she finds inspiration in the simplicity and beauty around her. With the help of coffee and good music she writes whenever she gets a chance

Author name: Miranda Brock
Genres: Fantasy, YA, Paranormal
Country: United States

Spin away with young Autumn as she finds a seemingly innocuous gold necklace on her family's farm and inadvertently uncovers her destiny as The Keeper. Autumn's discovery of the necklace activates the 'Window' and alerts both good and evil forces to her whereabouts. Autumn's life is changed forever when she loses her family, but is saved from the brutal attack of enigmatic enemies called Dehmons.

Seven Searchers who have awaited her arrival come to her aid, save her life and eventually convince her of their mutual destiny. Unbreakable bonds of friendship and love are formed between Keeper and Searchers, and this bond unlocks power to search out and kill the dead-eyed evil Dehmon souls.

Miranda when did you first start writing?
I first started to seriously get into writing when I was around twelve. I started writing poetry and it evolved from there. I took a creative writing elective in high school and that really boosted my passion for writing.

Was being a writer something you always aspired to be?
I've always enjoyed reading and writing but having a writing career wasn't something I seriously considered until after college. I love horses and studied equine science in college. I wanted to get into equine genetics but writing was something I always came back to. Writing was something I was  doing and going back constantly so eventually I figured since it was something I loved so much I may as well go for it.

What would you like to achieve as an Author?
I would love to write books that people remember, books that impact their lives. I want my books to be an escape. It's one reason I love fantasy. If I can take someone to a different world, even for a little while, then this while thing is worth it.

What is your best advice based on your own experiences so far to other Authors?
Support your fellow authors. I've found that most of the time if you help someone out, they'll help you back. Especially in the indie community of authors. We're all in this together so supporting others supports you, as well.

What genres do you read and review to support your fellow Authors?
Fantasy, and it's sub-genres, are my favorite. I also really enjoy science fiction and the occasional romance.

A quote by you or your Life motto?
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."- Ralph Waldo Emerson. I have so many favorites but this one really speaks to me. I'm the kind of person that likes to try things in my own way, which is one reason I self-published. Everyone was always telling me I needed to find an agent and a publisher and I thought Nope, I'm going to try this my way.

Thank you very much Miranda. It was my pleasure to have you on my blog. I hope many readers will discover your book. Keep up the great work and all the best. Lots of love, Lily

Birdy & Fishy is out now!

“Birdy & Fishy” is an illustrated book, inspired by the memoir "Destination: Freedom”. It is a lovely and deep story, about the great power of hope. It is about, believing in miracles and the strength of friendship and loyalty

There are situations that seem desperate. Existences that go on in the greyness of a suffocating and repetitive everyday life. Every day the same scenario, the same boredom, the coldness of a house in which there is no love. The imagination that inhabits this curious and intelligent little fish’s head creates dreams of the outside world and eventual escape from the confining life in a fishbowl, trying to drown out the sameness of life. Everything seems condemned to an endless monotony... until the unthinkable happens. An incredible encounter that shakes the desperate little fish’s life and put wings to his dreams. A story full of fantasy that teaches us not to surrender to despair, even when we do not see a way out. A surprise ending that leaves us with a smile.

The symbolic meaning behind “Birdy & Fishy”

This deeply meaningful short, age- and timeless story inspired by the two memoirs Destination: Freedom and Definition of Freedom is a reflection of Lily’s Life in a foreign country.

Fishy’s desperate desire for freedom, a circle of loving friends and a caring family, the feeling of belonging somewhere and of being accepted and integrated is what many refugees/immigrants feel and struggle with. Some struggle, just for a while, but others for their entire lives. But, as they say, there is always light at the end of the tunnel and this story, with a happy ending, is a good lesson, to never give up on hope, faith, dreams, goals, wishes, and desires, despite the challenging obstacles, of destiny and our selfish, elbow-society!

Meanwhile, this lovely story is also available in German, Italian, and Spanish. You find all the links for the illustrated book in print and the ebook on my website www.LilyAmis.com

Read My Mind Spring issue 2017 is out now!

http://www.nassima-design.com/RMM/spring2017

Read My Mind, What the magazine is about!

As much as we authors and bloggers love to talk about politics and other worldwide issues, we at “nasSima-design”, the publisher of “Read My Mind”, try not to publish anything about negative topics in our magazine. Unfortunately, politics and dirty money are ruling the world, and our lives are overshadowed by negativity, terror, and horrible news. We can’t change the world, but at least we can change your mind, for a while.

We are here to make you feel good about life and about our beautiful planet Earth. There is so much beauty in the world that we can see and be grateful for. So, be assured, our team will either entertain or educate you. We will either inspire or encourage you, with talented people in literature, entertainment, and true-life stories.

We offer several writing contests and give you the chance to be an active, creative, and productive reader of our magazine, with a prize of global marketing, highlighting you and your work!

The fact that we have bloggers from America, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Europe including artists from several European countries is our sign of unity. None of us have ever met in person. At least not yet! But, we are in contact almost every day and despite the distance, different time zones and continents, age, mother language, level of education, lifestyle, and life stories, we the makers of this magazine and our guests symbolize love, friendship, tolerance, respect, support, and togetherness. The world has become smaller thanks to our passion for writing and living in a decade with all the possibilities of modern technology.

To be honest, it all happened so quickly and unexpectedly. I must admit I was sick and tired of Social Media activities and blogging. I had decided to cut myself off from the Internet completely and was about to focus solely on my book scripts in 2017 when an event on Facebook caught my attention. An American Author organized a Facebook Event, with the message “Our Books Are Not Free”. I just couldn’t resist being part of it and luckily got a free spot on the last day of the event, which took place between 11th and 15th February 2017, with over a hundred authors from all kinds of genres, from all over the world.

I was fascinated by the idea that we all were part of something so historical that I set up a Facebook group, “Authors Support Authors”. In a short matter of time, I learned so much, from so many different authors. One of the ladies, another American author, and publisher inspired me to publish my own magazine. And here we are… the rest, as they say, is history.

THE BIRTH HOUR OF THE BLOGGER MAGAZINE was 28 January 2017!
