The Queen of Europe is the definition of Freedom & Tolerance!

For me music is the Universal language that not only brings joy and happiness, but also reunites all kinds of people around the World, while Politics and Religion divide us. Specially these days with all the mess that is going on around the world, I feel that music has become more important than ever before. It is not only about entertainment anymore. Music heals. Music gives hope. Music reunites. Music is Love. Music is a statement.

As I wrote in one of my previous posts THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST (ESC) is  an important event for us every year. And our Eurovision Song Contest HIGHLIGHT and favourite ARTIST of all time is without a doubt the ESC Winner of 2014. Why? Because since May 2014, we have the hope that the future will be a better world. For me personally, the top priority is freedom and primarily freedom means the ability to exercise free will, when a man can do what he wants, and not what society or life’s circumstances make him do.
The Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 was an event that the world will remember. The exceptional Austrian talent Conchita Wurst sang into the hearts of millions of viewers. She made a statement on tolerance, acceptance, peace and human rights with a memorable performance like no one ever before. She has been called the Queen of Austria and even the Queen of Europe since then, but she is much more than that: she is the Queen of Hearts.

We watched the ESC like every year, but have never shouted for a contestant. In 2014 though we couldn’t do otherwise. We shared the thrill and were so excited. My mom and I actually voted (for the first time ever for a Country!) and when Conchita won we cried with her.

Her brilliant victory is a sign, a sign of tolerance and a better and hopefully more positive future, where race, gender or nationality don’t matter. Everyone should live as he or she wants to live. That is the definition of freedom! It's not bad to be different, to think differently and to step out of line. On the contrary.

Conchita Wurst, the pop recording artist and drag queen portrayed by Thomas Neuwirth had tried to succeed in the music industry for many years. He auditioned in Austrian Talent shows, but never won it as Tom. So as clever and intelligent as Tom is, he created the artist Conchita and showed that it is actually brilliant to be different than others.

These days talent alone brings you nowhere. Not even ambition, hard work and 'Sex-Appeal' sell anymore. Let’s face it we have seen it all. Madonna started it and young artists like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Lady Gaga continued it.

BUT these days you have to offer more than just the look, the voice and your naked body. What really matters is personality, an opinion, a statement and honesty. Having the courage to stand out and speak out is what people want and need. It is important to become the voice for the voiceless and that’s what I LOVE about the exceptional artist Conchita Wurst. She is an amazing artist with an incredible voice and Tom is an amazing human being with a big heart and a beautiful soul.

I have learned so much from this truly incredible artist. Listening to her/his interviews makes one become a better person. God bless Conchita/Tom for being the kind of artist that ALL artists SHOULD be. More importantly she/he is still down to earth and loveable despite the huge success and popularity. That’s a sign of being a true artist: Not forgetting who you are and what you stand for.
Conchita thank you for having
the courage to speak out!
You are an inspiration for
many people around the world!

I truly hope one day I will collaborate with this amazing artist and hear this incredible voice singing my song lyrics. I like to use this opportunity to inform that this year I’m participating at the Songwriting Contest 2016 for the second time with one of my song lyrics. I haven’t decided yet which song lyric it will be. But last year’s results were a great experience. So I hope this year I will at least make it to the Semi-Final!

Let’s see what this year’s ESC has to offer. I hope to get some new inspiration and look forward to hear songs with a message and not too much cheesy lyrics.

  1. I agree with everything you write about Conchita. Good luck with the Songwriting Contest!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind message and your good luck wishes! God bless you.

    2. Thank you. BTW Austria's contribution this year is extremely cheesy but it's in French, so if you are lucky and don't understand the language, you still might enjoy it ;)
